Passover just passing us by

Jesus was crucified on 14 Nisan fulfilling the Passover, and in my opinion, fulfilling the redemption of what Adam did on that same day after Creation. They were all held on the same day. It says Mary was in the GARDEN tomb early on the 1st day of the week when it was still dark. The stone was moved and the tomb was empty. Jesus said He would die, go to the heart (kardia) of the earth for three days and there nights and then resurrect. Matthew 12:40 – “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

He says 3 days and 3 nights. These aren’t our Gregorian three days. We know at Creation God instituted that a full day was made of the evening first and then the day. It’s not anything like our days but a day to God was from sundown to sundown, not from midnight to midnight. That was a full day. Notice that it says Mary went to the garden tomb on the 1st day of the week when it was still dark. Jesus was already gone. Our Gregorian calendar this year follows the timeline of 14-17 Nisan. Jesus absolutely resurrected on the Sabbath day or 7th day of the week. He gave us His forever rest on that day and this is why He proclaimed He was the Lord of the Sabbath to the religious Jews. They would have a fit today knowing He “worked” on the Sabbath.

Being that it says Mary went to the tomb on the first day of the week, everyone concludes and insinuates that Jesus resurrected that first day of the week. That’s not what it says. He rose at the first sunlight of the Sabbath.

Disclaimer: I understand the calendars are all messed up and we go buy a Gregorian calendar and the religious Jews go by a certain calendar with Babylonian names and then there’s a biblical civil calendar. Not to mention regulating the moon cycles and by starting a month by that. So it does get confusing. I’m not even positive that we can know exactly what happened on what date as far as modern times goes. I’m just giving the closest understanding of what I know through the Bible and it may not even be right.

If I was born at 11:59 pm on March 31st, what day would you recognize this? If I was born at 12:01 am on April 1st, what day would you recognize this? What about if I died? Does it matter if it was one minute before or after a survivor date? Yes it does. Our modern day starts at midnight. Biblical days start at sundown.

So if we pay attention to small details like that, then God absolutely does. Jesus gave up the ghost at the 9th hour at what we call 3:00 pm. It was 4 hours before sundown when that biblical day ended at around 7:01 pm that day. If Jesus died at 3 pm then it was 4 hours before sunset and the start of the next day. Jesus said He would be in the “heart of the earth for 3 DAYS and 3 NIGHTS. He meant what He said. Not, “we won’t count the first day because technically it only has a few hours of it left so we will just round up to the next day and start with the first night then the first day will be at sunrise”. That’s not what happened. The first day was the first day regardless of it happening after sundown the day before or at 3 pm that day and regardless if it happened 2 minutes till or 4 hours prior. The count for 3 days and 3 nights starts exactly when Jesus gave up the ghost and it doesn’t matter if there were still 4 hours left in the day. We are particular about exact times in this modern era and we should hold that view when it comes to biblical events, especially ones that changed the world.

The problem here is that Christians can’t even discern the difference between Easter and the day Jesus resurrected. They do this every year and they are too lazy to even figure it out.
